DANCE STUDIOS

The dance studios have Harlequin sprung floors covered with non-slip vinyl. They suit a wide variety of dance styles including Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Hula, and more. Other activities like Yoga and Kapa Haka may also be suitable. And for other dance styles – such as Salsa, Swing etc – please take a look at our drama studios.

Please note: Due to the specialist flooring in these studios, there are restrictions on footwear. Outside shoes (including street shoes) cannot be worn in the dance studios. Only non-marking dance shoes, clean cotton socks, or clean bare feet are permitted.

Dance Studio 1

Dance 1, the largest dance studio, is located on the ground floor

Size: 24m x 15m (Floor Area: 370m2)

  • There is one exterior wall with opening windows with an exterior fire exit door, and one wall of fixed windows looking into the corridor

  • Full length mirrors on one long wall

  • White curtains can be pulled to cover the mirrors and external windows

  • There is a 48mm pipe grid suspended approximately 200mm below the ceiling

  • There is a wall-mounted whiteboard in this studio

Includes: Stereo system & speakers, mirrored wall, barres, whiteboard, mounted TV, suspended grid, grand piano.

Dance Studio 2

Dance 2 is an internal studio, with skylights and fixed windows looking into the corridor

Size: 15m x 15.6m (Floor Area: 235m2)

  • There are no curtains or blinds

  • There is a wall-mounted whiteboard in this studio as well as a TV

Dance Studio 3

Dance 3 is located on the Mezzanine (upper) level

Size: 15.3m x 16m (Floor Area: 266m2)

  • An internal studio with fixed windows on three sides and skylights above, which can be covered by blinds

  • Black curtains can be pulled to cover the mirrors

  • There is a wall-mounted whiteboard in this studio

  • This studio contains an air conditioning unit to regulate temperature

Dance Studio 4

Dance 4 is a large, square-shaped studio

Size: 15.3m x 15.3m (Floor Area: 234m2)

  • There is one exterior wall with opening windows and an exterior fire exit door, and one wall of fixed windows looking into the corridor

  • White curtains can be pulled to cover the external windows

  • Blinds can cover the internal windows into the corridor

Dance Studio 5

Dance 5 is the smallest dance studio

Size: Approximately 9m x 9m (Floor Area: 90m2)

  • An internal studio with skylights, without other exterior windows or curtains/blinds

  • Often used for private solo practice or by smaller groups
